TL;DR: PriceSpy stores all your data locally in your browser. We collect no data, run no analytics, and have no backend server. Your tracked products, price history, and preferences never leave your device.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any information. PriceSpy does not have a backend server. No user data — including tracked products, price history, preferences, or personal information — is transmitted to or stored on any external server.

2. Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored on your device using your browser's local storage mechanisms (chrome.storage.local and localStorage):

Tracked products — Product names, URLs, prices, and images you choose to track
Price history — Historical price data for products you've tracked
Preferences — Your target prices, notification settings, and display preferences

This data remains entirely on your device. Clearing your browser data will remove it.

3. Network Requests

PriceSpy makes network requests only to:

E-commerce product pages (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Taobao, JD.com, etc.) — to read current product prices directly from the page you're visiting

No data is sent to any third-party server. No analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry of any kind are used.

4. Permissions

PriceSpy uses the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab — Access the current tab only when you click the extension icon to start tracking a product
storage — Save tracked products and preferences locally
notifications — Show price drop alerts
alarms — Schedule periodic price checks in the background
scripting — Extract product information from supported e-commerce pages

5. Third-Party Services

PriceSpy does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.

6. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. PriceSpy will not: sell or transfer user data to third parties for purposes other than the approved use, use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality, or use or transfer user data for creditworthiness or lending purposes.

7. Children's Privacy

PriceSpy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age.
